As a senior economist in Radian’s quantitative analytics team, you will provide analysis on micro and macro trends to inform strategic decisions. The focus will be mortgage and housing related (home prices and unemployment) and will require effective summarization and presentation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Analyzing metro housing and employment measures and predicting future conditions Researching potential improvements to models, economic capital, and portfolio optimization Developing and maintaining metro level fundamental home price valuation, market home price valuation and unemployment econometric models Supporting strategic decision making Analyzing new products and structures Performing other duties as assigned or apparent Qualifications Doctorate degree or equivalent experience At least 3 years of prior work‑related experience Combination of experience, education, training, or experience that is suitable Additional Qualifications Understanding of mortgage, housing, employment and interest rates, and awareness of economic conditions and trends impacting the industry Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely to individuals from various backgrounds Working knowledge of advanced statistical modeling techniques relevant to mortgage and interest rate modeling Ability to work in a team environment Ability to effectively summarize and communicate findings Data manipulation and programming in support of market analysis Forecasting and modeling of economic and financial conditions Creation of analytical presentations and communications Presentation of findings to senior management Analysis and recommendations on alternative credit structures, risk sharing arrangements, and/or non‑traditional manners to participate in credit risk Benefits Competitive compensation: anticipated base salary from $99,000 to $140,540 based on skills and experience; eligible for annual incentive program Paid time off: 25 days of PTO annually, prorated in the year of hire; 9 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays; parental leave Health benefits: multiple medical plan options including HSA and FSA, dental, vision, basic life insurance 401(k) with company match immediately vested; opportunity to participate in ESPP Homebuyer perks program to support home search, buying, selling, refinancing EEO Statement Radian complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws prohibiting discrimination in employment.
