Sr. Manager, Engineering R&D Sustaining

Becton Dickinson seeks a Senior Manager to lead engineering teams responsible for lifecycle management and continuous improvement of established medical device products. The role combines technical oversight of design controls, product maintenance, and cost reduction initiatives with people leadership and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead engineering team responsible for design maintenance and support of legacy products
- Identify technical and business risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive project execution
- Lead product design changes for manufacturability, cost reduction, quality, and business continuity
- Review and approve design control deliverables including verification and validation activities
- Develop talent development plans and provide coaching, performance management, and succession planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- Demonstrated track record managing technical or engineering disciplines
- Expert understanding of sustaining R&D procedures and quality system requirements
- Strong project management leadership and team management experience
- Proven expertise in data analysis, financial acumen, and budget management
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
