Accounts Receivable Specialist

LHH is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to focus on cash application. This position supports the accounts receivable function by processing high-volume data entry and applying customer payments to outstanding balances. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in transactional work, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $20 and $23/hr.

Job Duties

Process high-volume data entry of customer payments, invoices, and account updates with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
Apply incoming payments to open invoices, ensuring proper matching and timely posting to customer accounts
Review remittance details and support daily cash posting from multiple payment sources
Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, and payment discrepancies
Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate aging, identifying and correcting variances
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are received within terms and follow up on outstanding balances
Maintain organized records of transactions, payment activity, and account adjustments
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues and ensure alignment between invoicing and cash receipts
Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting support
Utilize accounting systems and Excel to track, post, and analyze financial data

Qualifications

1+ years of accounts receivable, cash application, or high-volume data entry experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of transactional data accurately
Experience with payment posting, account reconciliation, and account maintenance
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems
Ability to research and resolve discrepancies efficiently and professionally
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer follow-up
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
