Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist for AI Model Training [Remote]

Design and deliver robust parametric 3D CAD models and documentation that improve manufacturability and support the training of next-generation AI systems. This role focuses on advanced parametric modeling, CAD auditing, and clear design rationale to produce high-quality, production-ready CAD data for a high-impact customer project. Key Responsibilities

• Develop fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies from detailed written briefs, with strong sketching, constraints, and organized feature trees.
• Edit and update existing parametric CAD models to reflect changing requirements while ensuring manufacturability and specification compliance.
• Audit and review CAD models for dimensional accuracy, correct tolerance application, and alignment with design intent, and document any gaps or deviations.
• Support AI model training by delivering consistent, high-quality CAD files and clear documentation of design decisions and rationale.
• Apply practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and casting or forging, to optimize designs for production.
• Perform reverse engineering tasks such as scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion when required.
• Communicate technical findings, design rationale, and feedback clearly in written and verbal form to support collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Primary CAD experience: Autodesk Fusion 360; strong proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, or FreeCAD also acceptable. FreeCAD experience is ideal.
• Deep experience with parametric CAD modeling and mechanical assembly modeling, not only single-part work.
• Proven application of GD&T principles, ASME Y14.5 or equivalent.
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM) expertise across at least two to three manufacturing processes relevant to the project scope.
• Reverse engineering experience, including scan-to-CAD and point cloud workflows, strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD automation or scripting such as Python, iLogic, NX Open, or VBA is a strong plus.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience requirements: 4 or more years of applied experience for model editing tasks; 10 or more years for complex model creation assignments.

• Hourly pay range: $40.00 to $100.00 per hour.
