About The Role Four Seasons Scottsdale is looking for a passionate and detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. This position is located onsite and is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations. The Staff Accountant also supervises other finance areas under the direction of the Assistant Director, including payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering in accordance with all related local and corporate policies and procedures. What You Will Do Understand and possess a working knowledge of the Accounting & Finance Manual. Have a good understanding of the month‑end process, including preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, and maintaining reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with GAAP. Assist in preparation of all budgets and forecasts. Understand the current edition of USALI. Prepare and coordinate the monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and all bank reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding reconciling items are investigated and resolved. Perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting accurately and timely. Participate in physical inventory counts and ensure the accuracy of count, price, and valuation. Safeguard cash assets through monthly bank reconciliations, cash counts of all issued banks, including general cashier, reporting any discrepancies. Assist with month‑end adjustment journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare periodic vacation and medical deduction audits. Prepare required backup or work papers for internal and external audits. Have a working knowledge of all finance areas to provide coverage when colleagues are on leave. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance. What You Bring College degree and at least 1 year of management experience in finance, preferably in a hotel setting. Working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
