About the Role
The Company is in search of a Principal or Managing Director to join its originations team in the Northeast. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging their existing network and networking skills to originate new business opportunities, with a focus on small and middle-market companies. This role involves serving as a liaison between prospects and the legal department, analyzing and structuring new business opportunities for credit approval, and working closely with underwriters throughout the documentation process. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, at least 10 years of experience as a Business Development Officer (BDO) and/or an underwriter, and advanced knowledge of asset-based lending and commercial financial services practices. Key responsibilities for this position include attending industry events, participating in conference calls and meetings with senior management, and keeping abreast of industry trends. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, establish and maintain working relationships, and comply with established policies and procedures. Experience with asset-backed lending, cash flow lending, and direct lending is a plus, with a preference for candidates with strong structuring experience.
