Duties & Responsibilities Position is in VIAVI's Wireless Applications and Security (WSA) Business Unit. Requirements & Responsibilities Strong technical background and working knowledge of wireless networks, including wireless network transformation with technologies and standards, such as O-RAN, AI-RAN, cloud, 6G, RAN, channel emulation, core and security. Solid understanding of major network transformations (5G/6G, RAN evolution, virtualization, and AI) and how VIAVI's portfolio helps customers in each target segment achieve their goals. Technical aptitude to work on and learn new systems to directly support customer requirements in the field. Support of named account relationships across hyperscale, wireless, semiconductor, private 5G, NTN (non-terrestrial networks), and NEM (network equipment manufacturer) customer segments, in partnership with Marketing, Product Line Management, and Account Managers. Support pre-sales activities for wireless test solutions across strategic accounts, driving engagement from initial requirements through deployment and ongoing support. Design, configure, and deliver technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept engagements tailored to customer use cases. Must have previous experience and demonstrate success selling into these customer types, with a detailed understanding of each segment's buying centers, technical decision-makers, and ecosystem dynamics (e.g., hyperscaler infrastructure teams, semiconductor design/validation groups, private 5G integrators, satellite/NTN operators, and NEMs). Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams in PLM, R&D, engineering, operations and sales to deliver successful solutions to customers. Track record of positioning complex, multi-product solutions (hardware and software) to technical stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements, demos, and account activities (travel % to be defined based on territory). Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements Ideal candidate would need to have the following characteristics to be successful: TECHNICAL CURIOSITY: Willingness to dig into new technologies without being told. Technical liaison between customers and internal resources. SELF-STARTER: The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative without waiting for direction — proactively identifying customer technical needs, pursuing solutions independently, and driving projects forward with minimal oversight while staying aligned with broader team and account goals. RESOURCEFULNESS: Finds answers or workarounds rather than escalating every blocker. TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT: Driven and adaptable, with a sense of urgency in supporting new account and market opportunities. Comfortable introducing cutting-edge solutions to customers alongside the account team. TEAM PLAYER: Will be required to work effectively with VIAVI sales organizations along with managing opportunities that will require coordination across several internal organizations. Must have proven experience operating with broad teams to achieve goals and execute on account/market strategies. BUSINESS ACUMEN: General awareness of the business and technical impacts of wireless technologies across verticals and customers served. Although WSA's solutions are technical in nature, it is important that our sales team can convey the economic drivers that help deliver positive business outcomes for our customers. SOLUTION SALES EXPERTISE: Proficient across multiple technology domains and/or ability to understand and position complex solutions to help customers solve critical business and technical problems. Ability to respond to evolving or undefined customer requirements. SALES PRESENCE: Treats opportunities as theirs to drive, not just support. Comfortable in front of customers and working within many levels to identify and create solutions that help solve customer technical and business problems. Good communication skills.
