Role Description The Benefits Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Battle Creek, MI, responsible for helping businesses and their employees understand and select Aflac’s supplemental insurance products. Day-to-day activities include meeting with employers to assess benefit needs, presenting Aflac solutions, and supporting enrollment processes for employees. The role involves explaining policy features, answering questions, and providing ongoing customer service to ensure a positive benefits experience. Benefits Advisors also engage in sales activities such as prospecting, follow-up, and relationship building, while participating in training sessions to stay current on products, regulations, and best practices. Collaboration with local business partners and internal Aflac teams is essential to expand market presence and maintain strong client relationships. Qualifications Knowledge of Employee Benefits and Insurance, with the ability to explain supplemental coverage options clearly and accurately. Strong Customer Service skills, including active listening, problem-solving, and maintaining professional, respectful communication. Sales and relationship-building skills, with comfort in prospecting, presenting, and closing opportunities in a business-to-business environment. Training and coaching abilities to guide employers and employees through benefit education and enrollment processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional presence in client-facing settings. Ability to work on-site in Battle Creek, MI, manage time effectively, and operate independently while meeting performance goals. Prior experience in insurance, benefits, sales, or customer-facing roles is preferred; applicable state insurance licensing (or willingness to obtain) is beneficial.
