As a Mental Health Specialist working in elementary settings, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to provide vital social-emotional support to students. Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree required – candidates without a master’s will not be considered
• Current LARA license (health professions – counseling) is mandatory
• Licensed in one or more of the following: school psychologist, social worker (LMSW or LLMSW), school social worker, marriage and family therapist, professional counselor, or school counselor with appropriate credentials
• Experience providing social-emotional learning and mental health support to students
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, school staff, and families
• Skill in implementing positive behavior interventions and classroom supports
• Commitment to fostering inclusive and respectful school communities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver social-emotional and mental health services to individual students and small groups
• Guide, implement, and monitor interventions for identified student needs
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families around student well-being
• Participate in professional development and staff training opportunities
• Assist in developing and sustaining positive behavioral support programs
