Senior Director, Software Engineering Infrastructure

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 10+ years of applied experience and 5+ years leading technologists in solving complex technical challenges.
• We have a preference for experience building and/or leading large, cross-functional technology teams, including hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• We look for a proven ability to influence within highly matrixed organizations and deliver impact at scale through standards, platforms, and operating model change.
• We require experience leading enterprise adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models using enterprise-authorized tools, including governance, quality controls, measurement frameworks, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• We value deep understanding of responsible AI risk, controls, and resiliency/security expectations at scale, with the ability to advise senior leaders on safe adoption, portfolio governance, and reuse-first approaches.
• We require extensive hands-on cloud-native experience, including building and operating services on AWS.
• We require strong Kubernetes experience, including scalable workload design, platform enablement, operational patterns, and production reliability practices.
• We require strong infrastructure-as-code experience, especially with Terraform, including modularization, policy guardrails, and environment standardization.
• We require experience designing and running multi-region cloud architectures, including HA/DR patterns, observability, and reliability targets such as RTO/RPO.
• We require experience implementing secure cloud identity and access controls, including IAM principles such as least privilege, role-based access, and auditability.
• We require experience modernizing delivery pipelines and operational excellence practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and resilience or chaos engineering approaches such as Gremlin.

• We lead multiple technology and process implementations across departments to deliver firmwide technology goals.
• We direct several areas with a strategic transaction focus, balancing speed, risk, resiliency, and cost-to-serve outcomes.
• We define and scale multi-department strategy for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC/TLM automation to improve speed, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency, while putting guardrails in place for validation, security, resiliency, traceability, and reuse.
• We drive cloud-native platform modernization across teams, including Kubernetes-based application and platform enablement, standardized deployment patterns, and production readiness practices.
• We lead infrastructure-as-code adoption and portfolio standards using Terraform to enable repeatable, compliant provisioning across environments.
• We define and enforce multi-region cloud architecture patterns, including active/active and active/passive where appropriate, to improve availability, resiliency, and recovery outcomes.
• We apply deep SDLC toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development, CI/CD automation, and release controls, to increase engineering throughput and reliability.
• We partner with security and controls teams to strengthen cloud identity and access practices, including AWS IAM design, least-privilege access, and traceable approvals for sensitive actions.
• We establish resilience engineering programs, including failure-mode testing and game days, and we accelerate incident response through automation and standardized runbooks.
• We provide leadership and high-level direction to teams while overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business.
• We serve as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, building consensus across competing priorities and large cross-product efforts.
