Position Overview Lecturer – temporary, non‑tenure track lecturer (Unit 18) to teach Global Health Program (GHP) courses for the upcoming academic year. Location: La Jolla, California. Salary Range $70,977 to $76,814 (based on UC academic salary scales). Job Responsibilities Teach assigned courses during the scheduled time on the course schedule. Develop syllabi, pedagogically effective assignments, lecture slides, lesson plans, exams, and other course materials outside of course time as needed. Respond to and provide feedback on student assignments. Hold regularly scheduled office hours. Fulfill academic responsibilities per Article 3 of the current UC‑AFT MOU bargaining agreement. Potentially provide instruction and guidance to teaching assistants, instructional assistants, and readers. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Candidate must be ABD or hold a doctorate degree (PhD, MD, ScD/DSc, Ed.D, MD). Professional or teaching experience in medical anthropology, public health, global health, epidemiology, or a medical social science. Additional Qualifications Doctorate degree (PhD, MD, ScD/DSc, Ed.D, MD). Preferred Qualifications PhD with at least one year of teaching or mentoring experience. PhD with at least three years of professional experience in the relevant fields. Application Requirements Curriculum Vitae – most recently updated C.V.
