Maintenance Administrator Agency : 345 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Location : Central Office, 200 NE 21st Street, Oklahoma City, OK Work Time : Full time Job Type : Regular Compensation : $67,500 Benefits Annual Benefit Allowance up to $20,538.24 for employees and dependents. Job Description Positions in the Maintenance Administrator family are responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing activities related to the construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of state-owned or leased buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment. They oversee construction/maintenance technicians, licensed trades specialists, and contracted crews working on new and existing state properties. Typical Functions Conduct inspections of buildings, premises, and equipment; determine maintenance, construction, or renovation requirements; estimate labor and material costs; inspect work in progress and upon completion for code compliance. Manage supervisory or contracted staff; develop and implement budgets, policies, and procedures; ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations; prepare routine and special reports. Evaluate bids on projects; prepare specifications for standard and specialized equipment, supplies, and vehicles. Prepare cost estimates on future capital improvement projects; review plans and construction documents. Plan, supervise, and direct movement and operation of heavy construction equipment throughout the state. Schedule work crews; report or confirm time and attendance of crews; perform work as needed. Complete reports of equipment operations, installation and maintenance work performed, and materials, supplies and equipment used. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Knowledge of building trades; state contracting and purchasing laws; construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, grounds, or utility systems; building codes. Ability to analyze maintenance needs; set priorities for crews; communicate effectively in writing and orally; establish and maintain effective working relationships. Education and Experience Required: Five years of experience in skilled building trade or maintenance work involving construction, maintenance, alteration, and/or repair of buildings, grounds, and utilities, including two years supervising contractors in the above fields. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable, counting one year of college or technical school training in the building or construction trades for each year of non‑supervisory experience.
