Accounts Payable Specialist Location: Cincinnati, Ohio Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour Schedule: 1st Shift Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with our client to identify a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with strong accounts payable experience and some accounts receivable knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and obtain appropriate approvals.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements while resolving payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with new vendor setup.
• Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist with annual audits by gathering and providing required documentation.
• Support the preparation and distribution of 1099 forms.
• Collaborate with accounting, operations, procurement, and other internal departments.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and increase efficiency.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for AP documentation.
• Assist with accounts receivable activities as needed, including payment application and account reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Experience processing high volumes of invoices in a deadline-driven environment.
• Basic accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or accounting software systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fleet management, automotive, transportation, manufacturing, or service-based industries.
• Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.
• Experience with automated invoice processing systems and electronic payment platforms.
