About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Sales to spearhead the next phase of growth for its cardiothoracic medical device business. This role is pivotal in transitioning the organization from a phase of growth driven by strong relationships and an established distributor network to a more deliberate and scalable approach to new-account acquisition, market development, and commercial strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the overall sales and growth strategy, leading and coaching the sales team, and personally engaging in new-account acquisition and market development. A key focus will be on building and nurturing relationships across various clinical and decision-making stakeholders within hospitals and health systems. Applicants for the Vice President of Sales position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive medical device sales experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in surgical technologies such as cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or related fields. The role requires a proven track record in sales leadership, new business generation, and a deep understanding of hospital sales processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing commercial strategies, evaluating distributor performance, and a strong ability to coach and develop a proactive sales culture. While direct experience in cardiothoracic or related surgical products is highly desirable, the company is also interested in leaders from adjacent medical device markets who have a demonstrated ability to build new markets and drive clinical adoption. The position demands a hands-on, player-coach leadership style and the ability to operate effectively in a startup or entrepreneurial environment.
