Staff Accountant

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and support a variety of client engagements. This position is ideal for someone who has a strong accounting foundation, enjoys working with numbers and financial information, and wants to develop a deeper understanding of how businesses operate and how their financial activity flows through their accounting records. As a Staff Accountant, you'll work alongside experienced Senior Accountants, Managers, and Partners while gaining exposure to a variety of clients, accounting matters, and financial situations. You'll be encouraged to ask questions, develop your technical knowledge, and take ownership of your work as you grow.

What You'll Do

• Support client accounting engagements under the direction of Senior Accountants, Managers, and Partners.
• Learn and understand each client's business operations, financial activity, and accounting processes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and client account maintenance.
• Review financial transactions and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions and work with senior team members to determine appropriate solutions.
• Assist with payroll tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, and other client reporting requirements.
• Prepare QuickBooks reconciliations and assist clients with accounting software and related questions.
• Manage assigned work efficiently while keeping engagement deadlines and priorities in mind.
• Assist with organizing and reviewing client financial information needed to complete engagements.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, dependable, and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:

• Has 2+ years of professional accounting experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for guidance
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• A professional, positive, and team-oriented approach
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software
