Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in California in a contract-to-permanent position. This role supports core accounting operations by helping maintain accurate financial records, preparing key reports, and contributing to a smooth close process. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, tax filing knowledge, and the ability to work across multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Prepare and post monthly journal entries with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank activity to support reliable financial reporting.• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules to ensure proper tracking and valuation.• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with accounting standards.• Support month-end and year-end close activities to help ensure compliance and financial accuracy.• Complete recurring tax filings, including property tax and sales and use tax submissions, in line with regulatory deadlines.• Compile audit support materials and respond to documentation requests from external auditors.• Contribute to accounts payable and accounts receivable processing while analyzing account activity, inventory transactions, product costing, sales reporting, commission data, and scrap reporting as needed.
