About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The Progressive Care Unit consists of 44 beds. The unit is staffed by 95 individuals, including 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC for both day and night shifts. The patient-to-nurse ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 when stretched. The unit is equipped with IV pumps, Skylifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. Electronic medical records are managed using Cerner. The preferred skill set includes neuro and trauma care experience. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar and TLSO brace placements, chest tube insertions, PCA pump setups, IV infusions, lumber drain management, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate will be a team player and focused on patient care. Floating may occur to stepdown units and med-surg units. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend.
