We do this because we believe safe, affordable, quality abortion care should be accessible to all.SummaryThe RN works directly with the physicians and other staff to deliver comprehensive medical care, according to our mission, for the patients at Whole Woman's Health. The RN practices in a safe and proficient manner, always keeping our policies and procedures and the individual patient's needs in mind. The RN provides direct and indirect patient centered care to women and their support people under the guidance of the supervising physician, nurses, and the manager.The RN is responsible for assisting within the scope of practice outlined by the Medical Director at our facility. They should maintain a level of professionalism in regards to interactions with colleagues, staff, and patients at all times. RN's are encouraged to promote utilization of resources and initiate improvements. The RN plays an integral role in the aspects of patient and staff safety, and needs to have a basic working knowledge of charting, documentation and Risk Management issues.The RN should be a dependable asset to the practice demonstrating an exemplary role in the aspects of punctuality, attendance, accountability, initiative, positive attitude, and team support.Essential FunctionsClinical Services - Gynecological Care:Assist in health screenings such as pap smears, pelvic exams, breast checks, STI screening.Counsel patients regarding birth control options, including diaphragms and IUDs. Follow up as appropriate.Counsel, educate, and provide resources on women's health issues.Provide counseling for gynecological problems such as infection, abnormal bleeding, or abnormal pap results.Clinical Services - Abortion Care:Dispensing Mifepristone or Misoprostol under MD orders as per the Whole Woman's Health medical abortion protocol.Assisting the MD in Medical Abortion care visits.Performing ultrasounds, assisting in surgery or aftercare.Follow up visits for patients experiencing post-abortion problems.Experience and General RequirementsPossess a current RN license in the state the position is located;2+years' nursing experience as a licensed RN and/or LPN;1+ years' experience as a Women's Health Nurse, Family Practice Nurse, or relevant Women's Health specialty;Certification in Basic Life Support;Ideal candidate will be Bilingual – English and Spanish.Required Continuing Education/Training:Certification in Basic Life Support, biannuallyTraining in the recognition of the cardiovascular and respiratory effects of sedatives, as well as the variability of patient response, annuallyTraining in/knowledge of emergency supplies, their inventory, their location in the office, and their use.Training in/knowledge of the pharmacology of the medications administered.Training in/knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE, and occupational exposure protocols, annually.In-Person Work RequirementsFor positions based in a clinic or office setting, team members play an essential role in creating a supportive, collaborative, and safe environment for patients and colleagues.In-Person Work Expectations:Ability to perform job duties on-site, which may include sitting, standing, walking, or lifting up to 20 lbs as needed.Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance during scheduled work hours.Uphold safety and confidentiality standards in all work areas.Engage respectfully and compassionately with patients, visitors, and team members.Adapt to a dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.Willingness to use new technologies or communication tools to support workflow and collaboration.Compensation/BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience.401(k) plan with 3% company match.Flexible scheduling and strong family support programs.A mission-driven, inclusive, and supportive culture centered around compassion, equity, and advocacy.Additional perks including employee discounts and virtual team-building activities.Please note that this is a working job description that may evolve as the needs of the company change.Whole Woman's Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we welcome applications from women, people of color, and members of the LBGTQIA+ community.
