CNC Machinist

CNC MachinistThe CNC Machinist will independently set up and operate CNC lathes and mills and/or manual machining equipment to produce precision component parts used in pump assembly. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes and mills with minimal supervisionEdit machine programs independently; perform CNC programming with guidance from senior personnelDesign and machine fixtures and fabricate tooling with limited directionAdjust workpiece and tooling offsets to maintain part accuracyRead and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) to verify parts meet specificationsPerform secondary operations, including cutting/preparing raw materials and washing parts as neededAchieve setup and run-time efficiency targets; proactively recommend and implement process improvementsComplete required documentation, including work instructions and production paperworkPerform routine maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) on equipment in accordance with ISO standardsPromote and maintain a strong culture of safety and qualityMaintain 5S standards within assigned work areasAct in accordance with company policies and cultural programsSkills and Experience4-year Certified Apprenticeship plus 2+ years of set-up experience, or 5+ years of set-up and operating experience required.Must have the ability to read and interpret documents (i.e., safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals), write routine reports and correspondence, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to calculate figures and amounts and have knowledge of the metric system or the ability to learn the metric system.Must have basic computer skills.
