Manual Machinist

Job TitlePrimary responsibility of this position is to perform complete repairs on customer equipment for equipment in the Service Center. Responsible for working within the overall Service Center team to accomplish the goals of the business in the areas of EHS, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Operating Costs, and Productivity improvements.Responsibilities:Must be self-motivated and open minded to lean our machining and safety proceduresEfficiently, carefully, and accurately sets-up and operates manual mills and lathes and has lengthy experience using a horizontal boring mill on a wide variety of diversified workLays out work and produce quality partsDeciphers sketches, blueprints, and engineering detailsProvides assistance in establishing set up and layout methods, order of operations, and application of required parts and materialsCarries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instructionSharpens, reworks, resets and repairs cutting toolsInspects and checks parts being producedMaintains accurate production records and job historyPerforms minor machine maintenance activities. Assists in setting up complex machines and stacking, marking, packing and transporting of finished products. Works at different work stations as per production requirements.Keeps a clean and orderly work areaPerforms any other assigned duty as directed by managementOperate manual and automated cleaning equipmentRequirements:Role requires 2 - 3 years of experience3+ years of machining experience preferredHas an extensive knowledge of machine uses and manufacturing materialsHas an advanced knowledge of shop mathematicsReciprocating Compressor experience a definite plus- but not requiredEducation:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Work Environment:Follow all safety and environmental directives which includes wearing proper PPEAbility to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controlsAbility to reach overheadAbility to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of timeAbility to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksAbility to lift or move up to 50 lbs of weight frequently throughout assigned workdayKeep a clean and orderly work area and maintain accurate records and job historyWorks with minimum supervision resolving complex issuesWe offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more.
