Position at Carolina CAT - Construction We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 School Year . This 2‑year college program allows students to earn an Associate’s Degree while working as a Caterpillar Technician. Students attend South Georgia Technical College full time and complete a paid internship at one of our branch locations. The goal is to train you to service Caterpillar generators and engines, using diagnostic systems, advanced technologies, and high‑tech tools. Summary This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in diesel mechanics and pursuing a degree. As a graduate of the Caterpillar Dealer Academy, you will become a highly skilled technician within the worldwide Cat dealer family. Qualifications Passion and strong desire to become a Caterpillar Technician Basic mechanical aptitude High school diploma or equivalent (or in the process of earning) 18 years of age or older at the start of the internship Satisfy FDTC admission requirements (placement testing, application, interview) Pass a background check Pass a drug screening Accepted by both the dealer and the school to join the Caterpillar Dealer Academy Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Workplace Requirements Physical demands, work environment, and safety expectations are described in detail. The role requires standing, walking, using hands, lifting up to 25 lbs, and operating equipment safely. Work may involve exposure to moving parts, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and noise.
