About the Role

A leading New York State personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join its growing team.

The firm is committed to providing exceptional service to its clients and pursuing justice on their behalf. With a team of highly skilled attorneys specializing in personal injury law, the practice has established a strong reputation for achieving significant settlements and verdicts across a wide range of cases.

The firm currently has multiple locations throughout the tri-state area.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience handling personal injury litigation cases from inception through trial , including premises liability, automobile accidents, construction accidents, and municipal liability matters.

Candidates should have strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills, be highly detail-oriented, and be able to manage deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with attorneys to develop legal arguments, documents, pleadings, motions, and other case filings.
• Request, review, organize, and maintain medical records and medical bills.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including:
• Coordinating and preparing witnesses
• Preparing jury instructions
• Preparing voir dire materials
• Organizing trial exhibits
• Preparing verdict sheets
• Respond to discovery requests and prepare discovery-related documents and correspondence.
• Prepare and e-file pleadings and other legal documents.
• Prepare cases for final disbursement.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure deadlines and case requirements are met.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and other members of the legal team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant personal injury litigation experience required.
• Experience handling cases from inception through trial .
• Experience with:
• Premises liability
• Automobile accidents
• Construction liability
• Municipal liability
• Litigation and trial preparation
• Drafting pleadings and motions
• Discovery
• Electronic filing (e-filing)
• Paralegal certificate preferred, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Experience using legal database software and task management systems.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, close-knit environment.

Applicants without relevant personal injury litigation experience will not be considered.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree preferred
• Paralegal Certificate preferred
• Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience required
• Microsoft Office experience preferred
