Let's change the world.In this critical leadership role, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leaders within Amgen's Finance organization, partnering directly with the Senior Vice President and Finance leadership team to drive business performance through people, organization, and culture.As Director, Human Resources Business Partner, you will help shape the talent and organizational strategy for a global Finance organization undergoing continued growth, transformation, and evolution. You will leverage deep business acumen, organizational insight, and data-driven decision making to align talent strategies with business priorities, enabling leaders and teams to achieve enterprise objectives and deliver greater impact for patients.Reporting to the Executive Director, HR - CFO Organization, this role offers the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions, lead complex organizational initiatives, and partner across HR Centers of Excellence to build a high-performing, future-ready Finance organization.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business PartnershipPartner closely with the SVP and Finance leadership team to align people strategies with business objectives, organizational priorities, and long-term workforce plans.Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, team performance, and talent-related decisions.Translate business strategy into actionable talent and organizational initiatives that drive sustainable growth and organizational success.Organizational Design & TransformationLead and influence organizational design, operating model evolution, workforce planning, and change management initiatives across the Finance organization.Support leaders through complex organizational changes including restructuring, role optimization, capability building, and business transformation efforts.Assess organizational health and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness, agility, and employee experience.Talent & Leadership DevelopmentDrive talent review, succession planning, and leadership development processes to strengthen leadership pipelines and ensure organizational readiness.Partner with leaders to identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent and critical capabilities across the function.Facilitate talent discussions and provide insights that support informed people decisions and long-term succession strategies.Culture, Engagement & InclusionFoster a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, innovation, and inclusion.Partner with leaders to strengthen employee engagement and implement strategies that enhance retention, development, and organizational health.Champion Amgen's culture and values while advancing diversity, inclusion, and belonging priorities.Data-Driven Decision MakingLeverage workforce analytics, talent data, and organizational insights to inform strategic decisions and measure the impact of HR initiatives.Identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to talent, engagement, attrition, capability gaps, and organizational performance.Provide leaders with actionable recommendations to address current and future workforce challenges.Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningPartner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to identify and attract top talent for critical leadership and key professional roles.Drive strategic workforce planning efforts that ensure the Finance organization has the capabilities and capacity required to achieve business goals.Support internal mobility and career development strategies that strengthen organizational capability and employee growth.Enterprise LeadershipCollaborate across HR and business functions to deliver integrated people solutions and share leading practices.Contribute to enterprise-wide HR initiatives, talent strategies, and transformation efforts.Mentor and develop HR colleagues while helping elevate the effectiveness and impact of the broader HR organization.What we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Human Resources professional we seek is a seasoned, experienced, and savvy leader with these qualifications. The level of HR experience and breadth of leadership capabilities necessary to deliver both strategically and operationally in this role will likely come from previous experience in similarly leveled roles partnering with multiple senior leaders with varying styles.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 4 years of Human Resources experienceORMaster’s degree and 7 years of Human Resources experienceORBachelor’s degree and 9 years of Human Resources experiencePreferred Qualifications:MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources, employee/labor relations, or equivalent.10+ years of experience in Human Resources handling complex issues in a fast paced, rapidly changing, high technical or pharmaceutical biotech environment3+ years of similar HRBP experience with proven success at the Director levelExperience supporting Finance, Corporate Functions, Accounting, Audit, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, or shared service organizations.Demonstrated success partnering with C-suite executives and senior leadership teams in complex global organizations.Experience leading organizational transformation, workforce planning, and operating model redesign initiatives.Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect talent strategy to business outcomes.Experience utilizing talent analytics and workforce data to influence executive decision-making.Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate highly matrixed environments.Experience supporting global organizations across multiple geographies and cultures.Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.Broad understanding of and appreciation for all human resources componentsDemonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human ResourcesDemonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business.Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environmentStrong internal and external customer service focusPassion for innovative HR solutions and process improvementStrong analytical, problem solving, consulting, and project management skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executivesAbility to partner well with other HR and business functionsWhat you can expect of usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
