Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Experience teaching or supporting students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for inclusive, student-centered instruction
• Ability to provide documentation of current teaching certification and resume upon application

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to individual student abilities
• Serve a caseload of approximately 9 elementary-aged students as their DCD teacher
• Coordinate with school teams and families to ensure comprehensive IEP support
• Document progress and maintain compliance with all relevant special education guidelines
• Promote a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Oversee daily instruction from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week; 30-minute unpaid lunch)
• Communicate regularly with parents and service providers to support student achievement

This contract position offers the stability of a school-year assignment with a supportive educational community. The assignment runs from late August through early June, allowing you to plan ahead for a rewarding academic year.
