Position Summary: The Senior Divisional EHS Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities across their relevant division. This position ensures the consistent implementation and continuous improvement of EHS practices in alignment with Bodycote PLC's global Health & Safety Policy, Global EHS Management System and local statutory regulations. The position represents the division in all Group wide EHS activities and programs to ensure the divisions needs, expectations and goals are met by any global initiatives. Acting as the divisional authority on EHS matters, the role collaborates closely with site and regional teams to drive cultural change, enhance compliance, and support sustainable business operations. The position plays a key role in establishing strategic goals, auditing performance, ensuring ISO certification compliance, and leading carbon reduction initiatives across all divisional sites. The role shall also support a Ops VP (and their relevant sites) for part of the Division they represent. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following. Champion the deployment of industry-leading EHS practices across all sites within the division. Report EHS performance regularly to divisional leadership team. Lead through influence by building strong partnerships with regional and site leadership, aligning diverse stakeholders around common EHS objectives without direct reporting authority. Coach, mentor, and inspire operational leaders and local EHS professionals to build capability, ownership, and accountability for EHS performance across the division. Drive organizational engagement by fostering collaboration, recognizing best practices, and motivating teams to embrace a safety culture and continuous improvement mindset. Alongside Group H&S and E, define "what good looks like" in EHS performance and ensure consistent application across geographically dispersed operations. Represent the division in Group-level EHS meetings, programs, projects and initiatives. Where required, evaluate, develop, and implement EHS policies and procedures in line with evolving regulatory and organizational requirements. Provide guidance to site management teams on EHS procedure interpretation and effective implementation. Collaborate with divisional engineering teams on EHS-related design and process safety topics. Serve as the divisional lead for carbon reduction efforts, supporting the Group's Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Foster a proactive safety culture by influencing employee behavior and promoting best practices across all levels. Alongside Group and the wider divisional team, develop and deliver safety, health, and environmental training programs and briefings. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with company and regulatory standards, and follow up on corrective actions. Support the development and maintenance of risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and Safe Systems of Work. Lead or support investigations into significant incidents where required and ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated and acted upon. Guide relevant sites through the maintenance and achievement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. Lead divisional EHS discussions during management reviews, providing insights and performance reporting. Travel extensively to support site-level execution and audit activities across Europe and North America. Likely directly support one or multiple operational sites within the relevant division. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent. 5-10 years of progressive experience in EHS roles, preferably within industrial or manufacturing settings. Deep understanding of relevant EHS regulations, compliance standards, and management systems, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Prior experience working in a global matrix organization with a multi-site responsibility is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, educate, and lead at all organizational levels. Demonstrated success in implementing behavioral safety and continuous improvement programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus. Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 50%) across multiple international locations.
