Construction Manager

Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking a Construction Manager for a contract role.

Project site located in the Western New York region. This is a travel-based contract role supporting a data center environment, and candidates do not need to be local as long as they are comfortable with frequent onsite travel.

This position is expected to run approximately 6 months and requires onsite field presence Monday through Friday, approximately 50 hours per week.


This role is responsible for managing construction field execution and ensuring the facility is built correctly, safely, and in alignment with design documents and project requirements. The Construction Manager will work closely with commissioning teams, while remaining focused on construction oversight, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, quality control, and turnover readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field construction activities on assigned project areas
• Coordinate MEP subcontractor work across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, and fire/life safety disciplines
• Monitor construction progress against the master schedule and identify potential delays, sequencing issues, or field conflicts
• Conduct daily site walks to review quality, safety, specification compliance, and adherence to design documents
• Support and manage RFI, submittal, and field documentation processes
• Coordinate construction turnover of completed systems to the commissioning team at phase gates
• Work with project stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain alignment across construction, engineering, commissioning, and operations teams
• Promote safe work practices and support compliance with site safety requirements
• Anticipate commissioning needs during construction to support long-term facility performance and successful project closeout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
• 5+ years of construction management, field supervision, or related project field experience
• Experience with MEP construction coordination, field execution, outage management, or facilities-related construction
• Background in commercial, data center, power generation, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, or other technically complex environments preferred
• Ability to manage subcontractor activity and communicate effectively with field teams, project leadership, and stakeholders
• Equivalent field construction experience may be considered in place of formal degree for highly qualified candidates
• Military construction or facilities experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license required
• OSHA 30 Construction required at hire or ability to complete during onboarding

Schedule

• Monday through Friday schedule, approximately 50 hours per week
• Travel home on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings, depending on project schedule
• Up to 80% travel may be required
• Daily work will take place on active construction sites, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions
