Payroll Consultant

Payroll Consultant (Workday) – Charlotte, NC LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in Charlotte, NC to identify an experienced Payroll Consultant with strong Workday expertise . This is a high‑impact, hands‑on role supporting payroll operations and system optimization efforts. Candidates must be local to the Charlotte market and able to work onsite. Key Responsibilities: Process end‑to‑end payroll for multi‑state employee populations, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery Utilize Workday Payroll for processing, reporting, and troubleshooting payroll‑related issues Review and audit payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit withholdings Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, system issues, and employee inquiries Support payroll system enhancements, testing, and process improvements within Workday Partner closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data integrity across systems Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and internal controls Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end payroll activities, including reporting and reconciliations Qualifications: 5+ years of payroll experience, including high‑volume or multi‑state payroll processing Strong hands‑on experience with Workday Payroll is required Proven ability to audit payroll, research discrepancies, and implement solutions Experience supporting payroll system improvements, testing, or implementations preferred Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) highly preferred Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to operate independently Location: Charlotte, NC (local candidates required) Schedule: Hybrid or onsite flexibility depending on business needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
