Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Client RN experience - Comfortable with the NIH scale - Proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and other various neurology diagnoses Description: This position will float between units as needed. On-call is not required. Weekends are required, every other weekend. Block scheduling is not required. The expected patient ratios are 1:5. This role requires experience in telemetry nursing, particularly in neurology. Candidates must have experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, and CVA interpretation. Management of dysrhythmias is also crucial. The position involves caring for patients post-neurosurgery and during various neurological events. All RNs are required to wear scrubs of any color. Charting will be completed using a specified electronic health record system. Interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services are available. The daily census for this unit averages around 48 patients. This unit also holds designations such as a stroke unit and is recognized as a Center of Excellence for spine care. Candidates must be prepared to float between facilities as required. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
