ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the NAVAL INFORMATION WARFARE SYSTEMS COMMAND of NAVWARSYSCOM. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- You will be a seasoned HR professional with an intricate understanding of federal classification systems, compensation methodologies, HRIS proficiency, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) statutory and regulatory requirements.
- You will serve as NAVWARs focal point for technical guidance on implementing and administering position classification programs.
- You will collaborate with Echelon II and III leadership to resolve complex classification issues, providing expert guidance and interpretation of classification policies and practices.
- You will mentor other classification specialists on the application of Office of Personnel Management classification standards, interpretation of classification appeals, and position management.
- You will apply a wide range of federal civilian human resources concepts, practices, laws, regulations, policies, precedents on classification and position.
- You will conduct research in the evaluation and classification of positions by using classification standards/guides to secure sound classification on positions; and advising on highly difficult and controversial position classification.
- You will provide advice, assistance and review on requests for highest previous rate; above the minimum pay setting; recruitment, retention, and relocation incentives; and other compensation and retention flexibilities.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
