About the Role:

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction and project turnover through final completion and closeout. This position serves as a key point of contact between the client, subcontractors, vendors, onsite superintendent, and internal team to ensure each project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the plans, specifications, and Tracon Construction’s quality standards.

The Project Manager takes ownership of the project’s schedule, financial performance, subcontractor coordination, procurement, documentation, and client communication. This includes developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring budgets and job costs, managing subcontractor agreements and change orders, coordinating material and equipment procurement, reviewing project documentation, and proactively identifying issues that could impact cost, schedule, or quality.

Working closely with the onsite superintendent, the Project Manager is responsible for keeping the project moving forward by ensuring subcontractors, materials, information, and decisions are available when needed. The Project Manager is expected to anticipate potential challenges, develop solutions, and communicate effectively with all parties rather than simply reacting to problems as they arise.

This role requires strong organization, communication, financial awareness, and construction knowledge. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, understands the importance of both field operations and project financials, and can build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.

Our goal is not only to successfully complete each project, but to provide the level of communication, responsiveness, and execution that builds long-term relationships with our clients.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Project Manager experience with a commercial General Contractor required; 5+ years preferred
• Commercial construction experience required
• Ground-up construction experience preferred
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, sequencing, and project coordination
• Able to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, and change orders
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective problem solver who can anticipate issues and develop solutions to keep projects moving forward
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Adaptable to changing schedules, project conditions, priorities, and client needs
• Comfortable with technology and able to learn and utilize construction management software
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Able to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, onsite superintendents, and internal team members
• Willing to travel to job sites as needed
