Lead Software Engineer - Agentic AI - Plano

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• We need strong proficiency in Python for agent orchestration and LLM tooling, and/or TypeScript, Java, or Go for enterprise backend integration.
• We expect experience designing data and RAG systems, including hybrid search pipelines with dense vector retrieval, BM25, rerankers, and vector databases such as Pinecone, Milvus, Qdrant, or pgvector.
• We require backend and API design expertise, including scalable microservices built with FastAPI, Spring Boot, or Node.js and support for REST, WebSockets, and Server-Sent Events.
• We want demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to define standards for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilient, secure delivery practices.
• We require production experience with agentic frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex Workflows, or Semantic Kernel.
• We expect deep expertise in tool calling and function calling, including JSON schema validation, dynamic API integration, sandboxed code execution, and MCP.
• We need experience implementing short-term and episodic memory patterns, including scratchpads, state graphs, vector-based retrieval, and conversational buffer compaction.
• We require advanced knowledge of LLM foundations, including prompt engineering, ReAct, reflection loops, and grounded outputs with guardrails.
• Preferred: experience building agent-based systems, orchestration patterns, agent development tooling, or evaluation frameworks.
• Preferred: experience designing scalable inference or model serving architectures with attention to latency, throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Preferred: familiarity with responsible AI practices, model risk concepts, and governance-by-design approaches.
• Preferred: experience contributing to or maintaining widely used open-source software in machine learning or infrastructure ecosystems.
• Preferred: domain knowledge applying machine learning to regulated financial services use cases.

• We define and drive the platform roadmap for agent-based capabilities, with a focus on measurable outcomes, reliability, and usability.
• We lead end-to-end delivery of core agent platform components, including software development kits, reference implementations, and integration patterns.
• We partner with product, engineering, risk, and control stakeholders to align requirements, prioritize trade-offs, and remove blockers.
• We establish quality, performance, and operational standards for agent workloads, including monitoring, testing, and incident preparedness.
• We turn experimentation into production by guiding architecture decisions, scalable designs, and repeatable deployment practices.
• We embed governance, privacy, and model risk considerations into platform design to support responsible development.
• We communicate technical strategy and progress to senior stakeholders with clear data and practical recommendations.
• We drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• We apply tools within the software development lifecycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
