Lead Android Software Engineer - Plano

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, plus 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools in the work environment, with the ability to critically assess, validate, and refine AI-generated output for accuracy, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to coach peers on safe and effective use
• Combined software and application development experience, with a strong emphasis on mobile development
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring diverse engineering teams building native mobile applications
• Strong Android development background, including building mobile apps with Kotlin
• Working knowledge of common architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and MVC
• Experience with modern native mobile development tools and frameworks, including Git, Xcode, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, CoreData, Android Studio, Robolectric, Mockito, Espresso, RxJava, Dagger, and Retrofit
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile environments, including daily scrums and iteration reviews and planning
• Solid understanding of agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• Familiarity with mobile performance optimization, device-based testing, and common mobile platform constraints
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, and Python
• Experience with Git source control management
• Experience consuming and integrating RESTful web services in mobile applications
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clarify application requirements with business partners through phone and written documentation

• We apply knowledge of software development life cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with the appropriate systems
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met through software development
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large and diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• We proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use those insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore emerging technologies
