About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to spearhead the creation and execution of a robust growth strategy within a challenging government contracting landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end process of new business acquisition, from identifying and qualifying opportunities to capturing and closing deals. This role demands a proactive approach to relationship-building with potential customers, particularly within the Federal government sector. The Vice President will also be tasked with maintaining a strong pipeline of target opportunities, conducting outreach, and representing the company at various external events. A key aspect of the position is the ability to lead business development activities, including the preparation of proposals and the establishment of strategic partnerships. Applicants for the Vice President of Business Development position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of directly applicable experience, with a proven track record in winning Federal government contracts and establishing relationships with government officials. A deep understanding of the Federal small business contracting environment, including relevant regulations, is essential. The role requires exceptional communication skills, a self-starter attitude, and the ability to focus on activities that drive corporate growth. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are also necessary, as is the willingness to work long hours during peak periods. While not mandatory, recent experience in a customer-facing role with HHS Operating Divisions and the ability to immediately expand the corporate pipeline are considered advantageous.
