Job Description
Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

Anchorage, AK

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Step Down Unit, which serves as a high-acuity step-down and progressive care unit. The RN will provide excellent patient care, utilizing their telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience to support patients during their recovery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients with complex medical conditions.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Perform physical assessments and document patient progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimized patient care.
• Manage titratable drips and provide care for patients requiring BiPap and trach support.
• Conduct CIWA assessments and assist with alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Alaska RN license (permanent, no temporary licenses accepted).
• Minimum of 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience.
• 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
