Inside Sales Representative Pharmaceutical Supply Distribution

Company Overview Established healthcare/pharmaceutical distribution company with more than 17 years of operating history is hiring multiple sales professionals in its Sterling, Virginia office. Role Overview Role Type: Full-time with two out-of-office/flex work-from-home days per month. Compensation: Competitive base salary + commission. Target Earnings: Strong performers can do very well in this role, with earnings tied to revenue-generating activity, account growth, customer development, and consistent sales execution. The company serves licensed healthcare buyers across the United States, including hospitals, surgery centers, infusion centers, inpatient pharmacies, long-term care providers, government agencies, and other licensed healthcare facilities. This is a specialized wholesale healthcare distribution business that helps customers source pharmaceuticals, biologics, injectables, vaccines, OTC products, medical supplies, PPE, and hard-to-source products. The business is built around responsiveness, compliant sourcing, documentation, availability, and trusted long-term customer relationships. This role is not traditional pharmaceutical manufacturer sales; it is a specialized inside sales role in healthcare distribution, where urgency, follow‑up, product knowledge, customer trust, and revenue discipline matter every day. Responsibilities Prospecting, calling, emailing, and following up with healthcare buyers and decision makers. Developing new customer relationships with hospitals, surgery centers, pharmacies, infusion providers, long‑term care organizations, government agencies, and other licensed healthcare facilities. Re‑engaging existing and past customers to identify new buying opportunities. Building trust with customers through responsiveness, accuracy, professionalism, and follow‑through. -learning the company’s product categories, sourcing capabilities, customer types, and sales processes. Identifying customer needs around pharmaceuticals, injectables, biologics, OTC products, medical/surgical supplies, PPE, and hard‑to‑source items. Working closely with internal operations, sourcing, pricing, and customer support teams to serve customers effectively. Maintaining accurate records of customer activity, follow‑up, opportunities, and sales progress. Managing a pipeline of prospects and accounts with consistent daily sales activity. Staying focused on the activities that drive revenue: conversations, follow‑up, quotes, orders, account growth, and repeat business. Medical product sales. Pharmaceutical or pharmacy‑distribution sales. Supply chain or logistics‑based sales. Account development. Customer reactivation. Business development. Direct pharmaceutical distribution experience is not required. Sales drive, phone presence, professionalism, follow‑through, and the ability to generate revenue are more important. Compensation This role includes a competitive base salary plus commission. Final compensation will be based on experience, location, role fit, and sales background. Estimated OTE ranges are: Entry level (but hungry): $80K–$100K OTE. Experienced inside sales (B2B healthcare, medical product, pharmacy distribution): $95K–$120K OTE. Other positions: $75K–$85K base, $120K–$140K+ OTE. Work Environment These are primarily in‑office roles based in Sterling, Virginia. Candidates should be comfortable working from the office on a regular basis. Local candidates with a practical commute will be strongly preferred.
