Law Firm Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

\n

A full service, boutique law firm is seeking a 2 highly qualified Business Development Managers for their NYC office.

\n

The BD Managers will help drive the firm’s profile-raising, client engagement and revenue-generation efforts through creative marketing initiatives and a robust, strategically executed events program. The positions will work closely with all levels of firm and practice department leadership under the guidance and direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development.

\n

One Business Development Manager will support the Corporate, Tax, Individual Client Services, Executive Comp, and Employee Benefits practice groups.

\n

A second Business Development Manager will support Litigation, Digital Assets, L&E, Bankruptcy, and Government Strategies & Controversies practice groups.

\n

\n

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

\n

• Work with attorneys and other members of the marketing team to identify business development opportunities, prepare targeted client pitches and support cross-selling initiatives

\n

• Create, prepare, coordinate and track results of pitches, proposals and presentations for client meetings and new business pursuits

\n

• Manage the creation of marketing collateral, web content and attorney bios to ensure consistency and impact

\n

• Conduct research on clients, prospects, industries, competitors and markets to inform strategic outreach

\n

• Develop event strategies aligned with firm and practice group priorities, ensuring each program supports relationship-building and business development goals

\n

• Partner with attorneys to design thought leadership and educational programs that position the firm as a trusted advisor

\n

• Contribute to the firm’s submissions for legal directories, awards, and rankings, including tracking deadlines, drafting content and identifying references

\n

• Collaborate on digital marketing initiatives, including website updates, social media content, and email campaigns

\n

• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve marketing and business development efforts

\n

• Required to travel to events (10%)

\n

Required Skills/Abilities:

\n

• Proven experience managing professional events from concept through execution

\n

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and project management skills

\n

• Must be punctual and reliable

\n

• Able to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines

\n

• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

\n

• Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills

\n

• Outstanding client service mindset and professional demeanor; ability to represent the firm positively in various settings

\n

• Ensure confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information

\n

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

\n

• Experience in Hubspot a plus (not required)

\n

Education and Experience:

\n

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field

\n

• 5-8 years of experience in marketing and business development in a professional services environment; previous experience at a law firm is highly preferred
