German Speech and TTS Audio Engineer

Shape high-quality German speech datasets for text-to-speech and speech AI systems. You will edit, restore, and evaluate large volumes of voice recordings, applying critical listening skills to ensure each file is clear, natural, consistent, and technically ready for machine learning training pipelines. Key Responsibilities

• Edit and process German voice recordings for speech and TTS applications.
• Perform audio cleanup, including silence trimming, breath reduction or removal, de-clicking, de-essing, and noise reduction.
• Check recordings for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and balanced levels.
• Ensure audio conforms to strict technical specifications for ML training workflows.
• Assess German pronunciation, fluency, and naturalness.
• Maintain consistency and throughput while working through high-volume recording batches.
• Collaborate with teams supporting German speech datasets, voice-talent recordings, and model-training workflows.

• Native or near-native German fluency, with strong listening intuition for German speech nuances and the ability to assess speech quality, pronunciation, and naturalness.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings, beyond music production alone.
• Strong understanding of speech-audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues.
• Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar audio-restoration software.
• Ability to identify and correct audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.
• Experience with high-volume audio datasets or structured production workflows.

• Experience with TTS vendors or platforms.
• Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation and annotation workflows.
• Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes.
• Experience directing or editing German voice-talent recordings.

• Detail-oriented, with strong critical-listening skills in German.
• Comfortable completing repetitive, high-precision work at scale.
• Able to balance speed with quality in a production environment.
• Familiar with the differing requirements of human German speech and synthetic voices.

• Remote, hourly engagement.
