Job Description
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology

Schedule

Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend schedules are variable based on unit needs.

Assignment Details

No set/blocked scheduling. Floating to other medical-surgical and oncology units may be required.

Requirements

• Current nursing license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Previous medical-surgical experience required; hematology oncology experience preferred but not required.
• ONS certification preferred.
• Experience with telemetry, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
• Familiarity with computerized charting systems, preferably EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other benign hematology concerns.
• Administer chemotherapy and blood transfusions.
• Manage IV antibiotics and oversee oncologic emergencies.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and assist in fall prevention.
• Utilize rapid response teams when necessary.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias.
