Overview: Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Part‑time Night shift (Third shift) in Suffolk, VA. Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $10,000. About the Unit The Medical‑Surgical Unit is a 21‑bed general Med‑Surg setting that serves a broad mix of patients. It is a certified Stroke Center and Magnet hospital, offering a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses. Coordinators and preceptors are on staff to ensure smooth operations and quality patient care. Responsibilities Perform competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate care, teach, promote health, and evaluate patient outcomes. Apply professional standards of practice and performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, environmental health). Maintain patient safety and deliver quality care in a rapid‑change environment. Education & Credentials Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Registered Nursing Degree or equivalent diploma required; students completing an accredited nursing program are eligible. Registered Nursing License required; students currently obtaining a RN license are acceptable. Certification & Licensure Registered Nursing License (RN) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire. Experience No prior experience required; 1 year of acute‑care experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
