Shape young lives and make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive middle school environment. This full-time contract position begins September 8, 2026, and focuses on providing essential educational experiences to a vibrant group of 26 students in the Easley and Powdersville area. Enjoy regular hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM—perfect for work-life balance—while working with a dedicated team committed to nurturing student growth and achievement.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification and credentials for Special Education teaching (applicable to South Carolina schools)
- Previous experience working with middle school students is highly valued
- Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation requirements
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet a variety of learning needs
- Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
- Design engaging lessons that accommodate diversified learning abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and growth
- Manage inclusive classroom behaviors, ensuring a supportive and structured environment
- Advocate for students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
