This role ensures payroll data integrity, proper general ledger postings, and adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, and provides a high level of service to employees and managers.Essential Job Duties:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to satisfactory standards. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Payroll AdministrationProcess bi‑weekly and semi‑monthly payroll accurately and on scheduleMaintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, bonuses, and garnishmentsReconcile payroll reports to the general ledger (G/L) and coordinate with Finance on discrepanciesEnsure compliance with wage and hour laws (FLSA, state regulations)Process payroll uploads, journal entries, and accruals for wages, vacation, bonuses, and benefitsEnsure proper payroll coding, cost centers, and allocation to G/L accountsProcess new hires, terminations, pay changes, vacation/sick accruals, and year‑end reporting (W‑2s, audits)Respond to payroll‑related inquiries and resolve discrepanciesHuman Resources AdministrationMaintain employee personnel files and HRIS data accuracySupport onboarding and offboarding processesAdminister employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, leaves of absence) and payroll deductionsServe as a point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policiesAssist with open enrollment and benefits reconciliationsCompliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ACA, COBRA)Prepare HR and payroll reports for management and auditorsSupport internal and external audits as neededMaintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information and payroll informationHR Support FunctionsAssist with HR projects and initiatives (policy updates, employee communications, training tracking)Support performance review and employee lifecycle processesCollaborate with finance, benefits brokers, and payroll vendorsOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
