Comprehensive Teacher, Extended School Year (ESY) (Summer 2026) Job ID: 5540158 Application Deadline: Jun 30, 2026 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time) Posted: Feb 17, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Details Position: Comprehensive ESY Teachers Position Type: Part-time, Hourly Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2026 Location: Hosmer Elementary School/WMS Reports to: ESY Coordinators, Student Services Directors, and Assistant Director Salary range: $42.00/hour for Teachers, $34.00/hour for Unlicensed Teachers Shift: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday-Thursday Dates: Preparation day: July 6, 2026; Program: July 7- August 6, 2026 General Description The Extended School Year (ESY) offers specialized instruction and related services to students beyond the regular school year. The position involves leading program activities, supervising instruction, and ensuring IEP goals and accommodations are met. Responsibilities include managing staff, addressing parent and behavioral concerns, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with administrators to align the program with district goals. We have availability in the Connections, ISP, and Learning Support programs. Responsibilities Teach groupings of special education students in grades K-12 Conduct whole group and/or small group literacy lessons Conduct whole groups and/or small group Math lessons Follow related IEP Goals and Accommodations Teach age‑related social skills and functional behavior Focus on the prevention of skill regression Perform progress monitoring and reporting Qualifications Experience working with elementary and/or secondary students preferred Experience collaborating with colleagues Experience reading IEPs Familiarity with best practices in literacy and math instruction Belief that all children can learn Classroom management skills Ability to engage students in all 4 domains: listening, reading, speaking, and writing Attend pre‑program training Preferred Valid DESE licensure as Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities or Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities preferred Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a public school setting preferred CPR/First Aid Certification Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand‑held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
