Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care tailored to the specific needs of the department, in alignment with the standards and practices relevant to the state and specialty. Working alongside medical providers and other care team members, the RN offers individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care by utilizing established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, demonstrating a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and during each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
• Carry out procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Deliver outstanding care by promptly responding to patient requests and proactively addressing their needs.
• Enhance care quality by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, assess, customize, and implement a holistic treatment plan that fosters recovery.
• Facilitate continuity of care by acting as a liaison between healthcare providers and community support systems to address ongoing care requirements for specialized patient groups.

Qualifications Required:

• Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 30 days of starting employment.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• This is a full-time day position.
• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in Behavioral Health nursing.
