Sr Director, Business Strategy and Operations

Gilead Sciences seeks a Senior Director of Business Strategy and Operations to support the SVP of Oncology Clinical Development in executing strategic vision for the oncology therapeutic area. This role combines business strategy advisory, resource allocation, and operational excellence to drive portfolio growth and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Advise SVP on oncology portfolio strategy from research through commercial launch
- Facilitate oncology leadership team meetings, drive engagement, and support strategic decision-making
- Coordinate staffing, resource allocation, and talent alignment across franchise heads with HR
- Define therapeutic area goals, objectives, and KPIs with cross-functional connectivity
- Lead or participate in strategic initiatives supporting portfolio growth and execution priorities
Requirements
- Experience in business strategy, operations, or chief of staff roles at senior organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to influence across matrix organizations without direct authority
- Strong executive-level presentation and communication skills
- Expertise in managing complex, ambiguous projects and confidential information
- Collaborative mindset with high emotional intelligence and mature approach to feedback
- Strategic thinking with ability to connect detailed work to enterprise-level objectives
- Track record of operational excellence and reliable execution of commitments
