Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM 7:30 AM | 12-Hour Shifts

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) ICU / Step-Down for a 13-week night-shift contract position in Rockford, Illinois. The RN will primarily support Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients and must be comfortable floating to the Step-Down ICU based on patient-care needs.

Candidates must have strong ICU experience in a Level I Trauma Center and the clinical judgment needed to care for critically ill and high-acuity patients. Holiday coverage is required.

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and high-acuity ICU and Step-Down patients.

• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards, policies, and physician orders.

• Monitor patient progress, maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic, and provide patient and family education.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and float between ICU and Step-Down units as required.

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.

• Minimum 2 Years of ICU/Critical Care Nursing Experience Required.

• Level I Trauma Center ICU Experience Required.

• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications Required.

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Required; Must Be Willing to Float to Step-Down and Work Required Holiday Coverage.

The ICU / Step-Down Registered Nurse will provide skilled, patient-centered critical care while supporting safe and effective night-shift operations.
