Enhance Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Columbus – Be a Part of Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine embarking on a rewarding journey where your skills give voice to those in need. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the bustling environment of Columbus, your contributions will transcend mere therapy — you will empower individuals of all ages to thrive, embracing the subtleties of communication while addressing swallowing disorders. Your impact will resonate profoundly, assisting children on their journey to articulate their first words and enabling seniors to regain their independence.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to cater to a diverse range of clients in a setting that artfully balances outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether you have a passion for pediatric language acquisition, expertise with adult neurogenic communication disorders, or focus on cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for older adults, your professional journey will find excitement and fulfillment here.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients across various age groups, employing standardized tests and observational methods to gather insights.
- Create individualized treatment plans that target specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals for both the short and long term.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to foster progress outside of therapy visits.
- Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless care throughout the entire treatment process.
- Keep thorough and timely documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Pursue professional development by staying updated with the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.
Educational Background
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet holding ASHA certification.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, demonstrating a deep understanding of developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, fostering positive relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to solve complex problems effectively.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance documentation.
Advantages and Benefits
- Competitive salary in line with your experience and qualifications.
- Flexible work schedules to support a healthy work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
- Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neurorehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
- Funding for continuing education and opportunities for professional advancement.
- A nurturing team-oriented environment prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career that Inspires and Empowers
Here, you won't just be delivering speech therapy services — you will become an integral part of a mission dedicated to rekindling voices, fostering communication, and creating delightful moments through the profound acts of understanding others and being understood.
Your journey will involve working alongside fellow practitioners who view one another as family, in a collaborative atmosphere centered on teamwork rather than competition. Each patient carries a unique narrative, and we trust you to help shape their story meaningfully.
