Position Our Adolescent Inpatient Psych Unit is hiring for a full-time day shift position. The RN for this unit delivers care to children and adolescents with complex behavioral and emotional needs. The Registered Nurse in our Behavioral Health Department supports two primary areas: the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and the Behavioral Health Access Center (Psychiatric Holding Unit). RNs work with an interdisciplinary team and participate in treatment planning and the implementation of therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s goals. RN responsibilities include compassion, leading nursing enrichment activities, establishing therapeutic boundaries, and deescalating situations. Responsibilities Provide care to pediatric and adolescent patients with behavioral and emotional needs in an inpatient setting. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on treatment planning and implementation of therapeutic interventions. Lead nursing enrichment activities and establish therapeutic boundaries; deescalate situations as needed. Build relationships with patients and families to support care goals. Adhere to ethical, regulatory, and professional standards. This position is referral eligible. Skills and Training Gained Verbal de-escalation Exposure to an emergency crisis unit and inpatient psychiatric unit Unit Achievements and Culture New Psych holding unit in the Emergency Department opened in February 2025. Ranked in the top 50 by US News and World Report for Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health 2024-2025. Behavioral health is an inclusive, diverse team of Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Patient Care Technicians, and Mental Health Technicians. Offers a smaller team with a friendly atmosphere. Qualifications Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active RN license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: candidates without a nationally accredited degree may be considered if they have more than two years of acute care experience, subject to CNO approval.
