Sr Accountant

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, a Consumer Goods company. The Senior Accountant will support accurate financial reporting and accounting operations by preparing reconciliations, analyses, schedules, and audit documentation while applying U.S. GAAP and technical accounting guidance. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare account reconciliations, supporting schedules, financial analyses, and audit documentation.
• Research accounting issues and apply appropriate technical accounting guidance.
• Support financial reporting processes in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
• Support internal and external audit processes by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting questions and issues.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze data and support accounting activities.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Requirements include:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Big 4 or national public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and technical accounting research.

Skills:

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

• CPA or active CPA candidate strongly preferred.

Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Technical accounting research and guidance.
• Account reconciliation and financial analysis processes.
• Audit documentation and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
