Richmond Post Acute is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Pulmonary/Trach Unit Manager to lead our specialized pulmonary and tracheostomy care unit. Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and daily oversight of the Pulmonary/Trach Unit.

• Supervise, coach, and support Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.

• Ensure residents receive high-quality, individualized care in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Monitor residents requiring pulmonary, tracheostomy, oxygen therapy, and respiratory-related care.

• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans with physicians, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation staff, and other healthcare professionals.

• Conduct nursing assessments and ensure accurate documentation.

• Monitor infection prevention practices and maintain regulatory compliance.

• Investigate incidents, address clinical concerns, and implement quality improvement initiatives.

• Participate in staff education, orientation, competency evaluations, and performance coaching.

• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.

• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning as needed.

• Promote a positive, resident-centered culture focused on teamwork and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, subacute rehabilitation, or acute care preferred.

• Previous leadership, charge nurse, or unit manager experience preferred.

• Experience caring for residents with tracheostomies, pulmonary conditions, ventilators, or respiratory therapy strongly preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.

• Current CPR/BLS certification.
