What You’ll Do As an Accounting Assistant, you will support both our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate vendor payments, efficient customer payment processing, and reliable financial records. Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices by reconciling invoices with bills of lading. Review and adjust invoices based on purchasing updates and shipping discrepancies. Organize accounting records and electronically maintain paid invoices and supporting documentation. Research vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances. Accounts Receivable Process customer payments, including checks and electronic funds transfers (EFTs). Apply payments accurately to customer accounts. Communicate payment discrepancies to the appropriate internal partners. Maintain organized payment records to support management reporting. Requirements Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Experience with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable is a plus Strong computer and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Physical Demands Ability to sit at computer monitor for long periods throughout the day. Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time; to reach with hands and arms; to move among and between offices; to handle mail and documents; to sit, stoop, kneel and crouch; to lift and move up to 10 pounds; to see well enough to discern differences in quality of documents and files.
